Evidence Coverage Scorecard

Map the current evidence behind a systematic strategy across five validation layers. The result measures research readiness, not expected profitability.

Evidence inputs

Select the strongest statement that is fully supported for each validation layer.

01Historical validation20 pts

Representative historical testing with realistic costs and sufficient trade coverage.

02Out-of-sample / recent market25 pts

Unseen or genuinely held-out data, or a recent period not used for optimisation.

03Stress and execution resilience20 pts

Testing under degraded spread, slippage, commission, latency or adverse market windows.

04Controlled forward observation25 pts

Observed execution on demo or live infrastructure without changing the evaluated strategy.

05Parameter stability10 pts

Neighbouring parameter sets and reasonable perturbations do not cause abrupt collapse.

Developing evidence

Important validation layers remain incomplete.

Historical evidence is present, but OOS, stress and forward coverage are not yet strong enough for a mature validation claim.

A numerical score cannot compensate for failed forward evidence, poor execution quality or a non-representative test design.

    What the score measures

The score reflects declared evidence coverage across five layers. Historical evidence contributes 20%, OOS/recent-market evidence 25%, stress resilience 20%, forward observation 25% and parameter stability 10%. Data quality and sample size apply limited modifiers.

    Methodology and limitations

This scorecard is an educational framework for organising evidence. Status selections are self-declared and are not independently verified. The output is not a quality certificate, investment recommendation, forecast, probability of success or substitute for reviewing source reports, execution records, assumptions and failure cases. A strategy with a high score can still lose money or fail under future market conditions.
